The Great Douglas

My Saturday started off rather slow, I had no plans for that day but knew sitting around all day wasn't an option. If you know me, you know I hate sitting around doing nothing. After a quick browse on the internet I headed East! Specifically I headed to Flabob Airport just outside Riverside, California. What awaited me when I got there? There was a mixture of more than a dozen DC-3's and CH-41's and many more which make and model I'm unfamiliar with. Wouldn't you know the one of the planes was giving rides? This particular plane was a 1939 C-41A. The two pilots that flew us were fantastic. This was my first time flying in a radial engine plane that big. It was decorated on the inside as a privately owned transport plane. I have to admit, not a bad way to fly back in the day. Well, not a bad way to fly at all really. As always, my camera goes everywhere with me, I managed to snag some of these photos. I hope you enjoy them and get a feel of what it was like to fly in this piece of history.

Until next time.
